Fall Term 2022
Lunds Universitet
Leeuwarden, Netherlands

In collaboration with Raghad Als-Haki and Eleonor Verant

The project responds to the growing disconnect between urban life and the rural landscape. As architects invited to Leeuwarden, we explored how people relate to their surroundings and sought to revive an understanding of the countryside and its importance. The proposal introduces an agora, a democratic meeting space within the landscape, accessible only by foot or bike. It combines physical and virtual elements: roofs collect and filter water visibly through the building, while a server room hosts a digital forum about the landscape itself. Together, these features reconnect city and countryside, linking human presence, technology, and nature.
