On this page are the actual posters of our participation in the competition.
In the Arboretum Norrs competition 2022, we were asked to design and make the landscape of trees accessible to more people. Our strategy was to develop a strong concept and focus on the details needed to make it a reality. Therefore, our proposal seeks to find beauty within simple form and craftsmanship, using standard-sized timber.
The key point of our new proposed typology is to make the vast variety of Arboretum Norr’s trees and bushes available to everyone who wants to visit. Our proposal works as a sequence of sheltered spaces that can be built over time to exhibit different parts of the forest.
The architecture is not bound to any program. It can be for watching a single tree, observing birds or other animals living in the trees, or observing a natural nest. Perhaps one hut is not about observing but experiencing the sounds and smells of the forest from inside the shelter as the rain falls outside.
